Survey Crew Chief We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief for our Survey & Mapping Division. The successful candidate shall demonstrate basic trigonometry skills, basic computer skills, prior experience in boundary, highway and engineering surveying, as well as topographic work. Individual must possess 5+ years of survey experience. This individual will work 100% in the field and must be able to walk approximately 10-15 miles per day and work with little or no supervision. Software EngineerWe are looking for Software Engineer with strong modeling abilities, as well as front-end / user experience prowess. You will be working with various stakeholders as part of the development team to create wireframes, mock-ups, graphics, and user interface flow, as well as modeling objects and programming software solutions. You will be working with developers and stakeholders to design user interfaces and setting the user interface guidelines, and to develop software driven by the user experience.

Civil Engineering Inspector (Materials Testing) Location: Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Ohio
We are currently seeking to hire a NICET Level 2 Soil Technician to perform observations and testing for public and private sector projects. The successful candidate must be experienced and certified in materials testing and inspection on infrastructure projects with municipalities and governmental agencies. NICET Certification REQUIRED. Responsibilities include: inspect and monitor site work which includes excavations, drainage facilities, road surfaces and structures; schedule work and inspection phases with contractor and agency personnel; perform material testing for concrete, asphalt and other foundation materials; advise contractors of violations/deviations and recommend adjustments to operations; maintain project records which include daily logs, materials notebooks, as-built plans and/or pay quantity records.
Qualifications: Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field. Three years of material testing experience in construction related activities in laboratory and field environments, including one year of experience in the inspection of public works construction projects. Other combinations of experience and education may be substituted. ICC, NICET, ACI certification. Knowledge of construction practices and techniques, engineering terminology, principles and techniques of civil engineering including surveying, plan review and knowledge of other materials used in construction projects.
Certification Requirements: Nuclear Densometer Training, required. ICC or NICET certification required. ACI Field Testing Technician - Grade 1, required. ACI Concrete Laboratory Technician - Level 1, preferred. ACIA (American Construction Inspectors Association) preferred.

Geotechnical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer for our Ohio operation. Ideal candidate will possess a BSCE with a concentration in geotechnical and pavement engineering. Five to ten years of relevant work history, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The primary responsibilities for this position include geotechnical analyses and calculations associated with subsurface investigations for public and private projects. Candidate would be expected to provide field supervision of drilling operations, geotechnical observation and testing during construction, and assist with the writing of subsurface investigation reports. Knowledge and experience in foundation analyses, slope stability evaluations, and pavement design are essential.
Qualifications & Education
- Minimum 5-10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, 3-5 years of project management experience, and knowledge of appicable laws and regulations required; 2-3 years of supervisory/management experience required
- Ohio-based geotechnical experience strongly desired
- ODOT experience preferred
- Certifications: Ohio Professional Engineer required or the ability to obtain within six months
- Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related technical field required; Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred

Ecological Environmental Scientist
We are seeking an Ecological Environmental Scientist. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years experience in conducting wetland delineations, stream evaluations, threatened and endangered species surveys, Section 401/404 permitting, wetland mitigation, and stream enhancement/mitigation. Successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, environmental science, natural resources or related field and have completed the ODOT Ecological Training and Waterways Permits Training classes. Must also possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Capable of collecting field data for stream studies and complete either an OEPA’s Qualitative Habitat Evaluation Index (QHEI) form or a Habitat Evaluation Index (HHEI) form.
- Capable of collecting field data to assess for the presence of a wetland, including completing an Ohio Rapid Assessment Method (ORAM).
- Requires good written and verbal skills. Capable of communicating well with OEPA and USACE to effectively complete Section 401/404 permitting.
- Strong computer skills to develop ecological survey reports and appendix materials. GIS capabilities not required, but considered a plus.
- Must meet the ODOT consultant prequalification requirements for Ecological Surveys, Stream & Wetland Mitigation, and Waterway Permits.
- Capable of operating GPS field equipment to record locations of wetland boundaries and field data plot points.
- Successful completion of a stream and wetland mitigation projects approved by the OEPA and USACE.
- Must meet the education requirements for ODOT consultant prequalification for Ecological Surveys, Stream & Wetland Mitigation, and Waterway Permits.

Ideal applicants must have experience working on drill rigs preferably a CME 750 (ATV-mounted), a Mobile B-53 (truck-mounted), a Mobile 57 (truck mounted), and a Geoprobe Model 4220 (4x4 Mule mounted) drill rig.
