For the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ministry of Communications, the management of their entire roadway system was nearly impossible without an automated maintenance management system. Resource International, Inc., Columbus, Ohio, as a member of joint venture Highway Maintenance Associates (HMA), developed a Highway Asset Management System for the Ministry that manages their entire network of roadways and the related elements called the Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS).

The HMMS technology is a computerized, state-of-the-art system developed to forecast optimal maintenance needs for a multi-year planning of an entire roadway network and its elements for the Kingdom.
