Butler County,
Ohio Resource International contracted with the Butler County Transportation Improvement District to perform construction management services for this record breaking, award winning project. This $150 million project consists of a 10.7-mile-long, limited access highway and was completed in 18 months, eight months ahead of schedule. The highway’s construction methodology milestones involved a flat management system to streamline coordination and issue resolution; QA/QC incorporating on-site independent material testing practices to reduce chain-of-custody disputes; monetary incentives rewarding early goal achievement; constant feedback and involvement with the community; and a revolutionary five-year warranty and zero-maintenance program that was one of the first in the nation. These elements served to circumvent potential disruptive conflicts. Thus, significant construction methodology achievements were recognized throughout the project.
