Bridge Deck Evaluations

Resource provided ODOT District 12 with an extensive study of sixteen (16) bridge structures in Cuyahoga and Lake counties. The data depicted locations of deterioration and/or delamination in the reinforced concrete deck. Corrosion rating for both top and bottom layers of reinforcing bar was used to make a better informed decision about repairing sections versus replacing the entire deck. GPR results were also used to better select locations for core samples to be taken and later analyzed in the laboratory.
