Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
I'm familiar with GPR, is this the same technology that has been around
since the 1970's?
A:
No. The theory of GPR remains the same, but thanks to faster computers
and an explosion of research we offer state-of-the-art methods. Our surveys
are performed at speeds up to 45 mph, with high resolution, and superior
results. All data is analyzed with a 3D image and plotted directly onto
structural drawings. This is definitely the next generation of Ground
Penetrating Radar!
Q:
How does GPR work?
A: The antenna sends radio waves into
the ground to measure differences in electrical properties of the area.
From that precise information, software and a trained operator can interpret
the signal.
Q:
Are there any safety concerns or interference issues?
A: Radio waves, unlike X-ray, are not
considered to be harmful. All Resource International equipment is FCC
compliant. In addition, several safety measures are taken during a survey
to protect our crew, the equipment and other persons in the area.

Q:
How deep can the radar survey penetrate?
A: The radar signal depth is dependent
on the type of material and selection of antenna. Under good conditions
a radar survey can hear to a depth of 50 meters.
Q:
What is the cost of a typical survey?
A: Survey costs are determined to meet
your needs. Please contact one of our offices
for a quote on our services.
Q:
How quickly is a survey project completed?
A: Resource International performs a
thorough GPR survey and analysis of the data received. Once is it scheduled,
a typical GPR survey consists of four to eight hours followed by two to
three days of analysis.
Q:
What surveys has Resource International recently performed?
A: See our recent
projects page!
Q:
Where can I get more information about my specific project?
A: Please contact us by E-mail,
phone or fax with your specific project circumstances. Resource International
has over 28 years of experience in Non-destructive testing and is looking
forward to your business.
